Iman holds a master of degree in materials engineering. He has over 10 years of materials development experience in different industries,

including advanced materials, catalysts industries and nanomaterials.He started his career as a project analyst by participating in feasibly study of advanced materials projects.He was in charge of process design and materials development of an alumina based catalyst production plant (2500 tons/year).He has proven skills in developing idea and products modifications in R&D departments and has developed several commercial products and equipment for chemical and oil industries.

Response market. Tom led VCi’s expansion to over 100 employees in three countries, with revenue in excess of US$20 million annually.  The VCi Group of Companies was profitable for each of the 12 years it was under his control, and was sold in the spring, 2005. Tom runs the MARS Cleantech Fund and is Senior Advisor of the Cleantech Practice at MaRS and sits on the board of a number of clean energy companies and organizations.

Dan runs operations, manufacturing, and supply chain for Polar Sapphire. He has broad manufacturing and management experience in

Scott then joined Cymat where he developed and scaled up a new process for manufacturing aluminum foam, and was a member of the management team that took the company public on the TSX. Scott then founded 6N Silicon which developed a new process for purifying silicon for use in Solar Cells. 6N Silicon was sold to Calisolar in 2010. Scott then ran R&D and manufacturing in China before starting Polar Sapphire in 2013.

Tom started his career as a software renegade in high school.  Then he went legit and founded Voice Courier Inc. (VCi) in 1991 to service the emerging Interactive Voice

Wayne has a broad base of experience in senior management positions in early stage technology companies in both the private and public sectors.

He holds a Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Science Engineering from the University of Toronto.  He began his career with the Gas Products Division of Union Carbide (now Praxair) where he held positions in research and development, product management and sales management. Wayne served as General Manager of Sanden Machine, and as COO of CFN Precision.  Most recently he held the position of CEO for Watson Brown HSM Ltd.

​Scott Nichol is Founder, CEO and Board Member of Polar Sapphire. After graduation from university, Scott started a secondary aluminum smelter to recycle scrap aluminum.
